Lent Lectio ’23

Lectio Divina, which means “divine reading,” is a way of being with a text, an image or a wild space that is filled with attentive and receptive space. We come to our focus with a quality of openness, emptiness and stillness. We let all that is more than us wrap themselves around and through the words and stillness in such a way that the words land in us in life-giving ways. Traditionally, Lectio Divina has been practiced with scripture.

Green Exodus is stretching wide our experience of God — exploring the intimate imminence  of God through practices of contemplation and meditation and the vibrant generative presence of God in the natural world. During Lent, we want to bring our contemplative approach to the story and person of Jesus. A Lectio Divina encounter with Jesus opens us to know God in new ways and to be surprised by how God knows us.
