I am the daughter of Marguerite and John Humphreys, originally from London, England, who, with much joy, became Canadian citizens in 1990. I was born on the traditional land of the Maori people. My parents immigrated from England to Canada when I was three. We arrived by boat on the East Coast. As we travelled to Calgary by train, I walked up and down the aisle, talking to everyone. Not much has changed. . .
I now live in Moh’kinstsis (Calgary, Alberta) on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis Nation (Region 3).
I make my home amidst the Rocky Mountains on the horizon, Chinook winds and big sky, the secret wildflower sanctuary where Rosie (Havanese poodle) takes me most days, the comings and goings of my children’s lives and the neighbours, landscape and wild creatures of Prairie Sky Cohousing Cooperative.
