It took a long time, and a move to the Rocky Mountains, for Greg to fully appreciate the glories of nature and the holy connections to be found in the out-of-doors. Through the gentle words, songs, and embodied spirituality of the Evensong community in Canmore, through the teachings of Fr. Richard Rohr, through the sacred traditions of our Stoney Nakoda neighbours, and through a newfound love of hiking and snowshoeing, Greg has had somewhat of a spiritual awakening. In that time of new awareness, he finds it a joy to be involved in these early days of Green Exodus.
Greg is now entering his 10th year as minister of Ralph Connor Memorial United Church in Canmore – and now also serves Rundle Memorial United Church in Banff. He finds that in these alpine towns, there is such awareness of the fragility of the land, foliage, waters and air, and such appreciation of the needs of the woodland creatures who were here long before us two-legged ones arrived. He hopes that our shared journey may be one of wholeness and life.
